is my motor junk?!?!?!?!

I checked the timing belt and its lined up right, and i have good spark on 
all the plugs.
While adjusting the distributor I can get rid of the knock but it still wont 
stay running unless i give it gas. The weird thing is sometimes after the 
car dies, i turn the distributor back and the fuel pump
turns on. When the distributor is in the normal position it will idle but 
have a knock at a higher rpm and under load.

When i have the 3rd cylinder plug wire disconected the knock is gone and it 
runs the same, so i figured that my injector was pluged, nope.

I found out the other day that i have compresion on 1 and 2 but i dont on 
3rd and i can hear air chuggin out the 4th plug hole and vise versa, i 
figured that its maybee a bad head gasket, but the car didnt over heat.

wtf?
