Random ? - difference in ABA dipstick length?

Damn it's cold...  Ok, the ABA dipstick's "Full" range is from 15 1/4"
to
15 3/4" from the topmost "stop" that rests against the dipstick tube.

My 1.7L dipstick is 6 7/8" to 7 3/8" from the "stop".  BUT the ABA
dipstick tube is 11" long, measured from the block, vs. just shy of 2
1/2" on the 1.7.
