Cool!  I was looking for similar info for Sara's Beater Wars coming up
in Feb.  I was just going to run my Michelin Arctic Alpins, but if I can
stud a set of tires cheaply I'd definitely do it!

I don't have any first hand information to give, but I don't think you
should put washers on the screws.  Drywall screws have a nice smooth
radius under the head, and as long as you're driving them into a steel
belted tire, they should bury themselves almost flush.  I don?t see any
reason to use washers.  The screws will be forced back in, not out...

I wonder if one or two of those cans of "flat fix" would seal everything
up ok.  (one way to do it might be to get the wheel mounted on the rim,
and the beads popped into place, then add the cans of "flat fix" and
immediately spin the wheel on a balancing machine for a few minutes to
evenly distribute the sealant...

Let us know if you find out anymore info!  I have an old set of tires
lying around that I could experiment on, but don't want to invest HOURS
into each one only to find that they won't hold air worth shit...
