While I won't argue the political points on the list (I completely

off list if you care to discuss), I will argue the technical details
of Google.

Note that this is *NOT* a bug in Google, nor is Google making a
political statement! Someone out there has a ton of web pages with the
link text "miserable failure" set to
www.whitehouse.gov/president/gwbbio.html. A code sample of this is:

<A HREF="http://www.whitehouse.gov/president/gwbbio.html";>miserable
failure</A>

Google merely adds this to it's database. If we all got together and
each linked "rice killer" to scirocco.org Google would point to
scirocco.org rather then rice.edu. What is more likely is that someone
created a script that built 100 sites with 10000 pages on each that
point to whitehouse.gov. Google's search results are getting more
muddled with folks doing similar Google tricks.

This is nothing new, I've seen this since mid 2000.
