[audio] dumb ohm-age question (or square peg & round hole)

You can find the resistance or ohms of the speaker with a multimeter.

great site about wiring speakers, resistance and shite.

okay, so now i've two sets of bose speakers laying around for a
custom built box. i've also a 250w, 4-ohm amp waiting for a home. i have
been, thus far, unable to determine the ohms of the speakers, though i
have had one place said that most likely are 2-ohm, but might be 4-ohm
(lotta help, that one). they are out of a porsche (no bose amp present
for those) and an audi (which the bose amp was there, but no markings on
it). anyone know what ohms these are or any way that i can find out?
also, and here's the dumb question, is there any way to make 2-ohm
speakers work with a 4-ohm amp? i'd assume it'd just blow the speakers
or there'd be one universal amp. and help would be appreciated. thanx.
