scirocco bauer cabriolet

I own a 1975 rocco and after seeing a mk1 scirocco cabriolet at the museum in 
Wolfsburg I have to have one! Does anyone know what they had to do tho the 
structure/chassis in order to cut the rough off? I am very seriously interested
