Damaged Fuel Line. Replacement/repair questions

Fellow Sciroccans,

The problem: I noticed a partially crushed fuel line on my 1980 that runs
near the jack point on the right side. (Apparently VW finally did away with
this routing on the 1981). What are my options to repair or replace the
damaged fuel line?  I know this is a high pressure system (70 psi?).

So  far the only  available options I see are:

1) I will need to  pick and pull the whole delivery system from the junkyard
( least desirable option).

2) go with a repair if possible, ( I did this once with a automatic
transmission line). Compression fitting I think?

3) find a aftermarket high pressure fuel line product I can adapt to the MK1

Does anyone have any experience with this problem?
