Ultimate 16v Clutch Kit

OMG! He lives! :) Welcome back!

Now - to your ?'s :

Don't know much about the type of clutch you're referring to. How much power are you planning on putting down? The stock setup should be good to 160hp...

Do you know how much your current flywheel weighs? A flywheel that's had too much material removed could display such characteristics...I have an 8.5lb unit in my 2L16v Cabby and like the response I get. (coupling it with a more powerful motor that your 1.6/1.7 may also help...)

HTH, Jeff

BTW - don't be a stranger at the local GTG's! Keep in touch with Randy (or the list) - he'll be in tune with when we do it! :) L8R

It's good to be back on the LIST after several years in hiding. Now my MK1
16v conversion is in full swing. I have just ordered a rebuild transaxle
from Kraftswerk. It (AGB) will have a LSD with 3.96 final drive and .71 5th gear.

Now I'm looking for the proper clutch kit to use.

Anyone recommend the Kevlar Performance Clutch Disc?

In addition, should I consider a lightened flywheel?

I have a lightened flywheel in my stock 1981s and hate it. It's very tricky
starting off in 1st gear, since there's no momentum I end-up stalling out
and feeling like a idiot!

Any thoughts?
