Lightened Flywheel -2.0l 16v

My youngson has a lightened flywheel in his turbo'd JH ('81 S). That is
where all my ("vast") experience with a LF comes from. It works beautifully
on a turbo motor.
First and second useless???
First and second are better than Disneyland.

was told that that would be a very bad idea, as it would be hard to stay in
the turbo's range on shifts and 1st and 2nd would be pretty much useless.
Opinions?

Wouldn't go back.
