Mike, I'd be happy to send you some pics, though I do not yet have a 
digital camera. At some point I will indeed get some good images of said 
LED running lights.

Basically, since the the lenses are not transparent, most people would 
not notice a difference (all my LEDs are DOT-Spec Colors).  They do have 
the advantage of an instant-on and instant-off , so they light up much 
quicker than an incandescent lamp. Also, the color is more saturated, 
unlike a a regular bulb, which requires the signal lens to filter out 
all but the needed color for the application.

Recently I had colored incandescent bulbs for my front turn signals 
because I have smoked euro lenses, which are darker but have no color 
(amber) tint.  The yellow coating on the bulbs eventually disintegrated 
after a year or so, and they were no longer very amber.  My replacement 
LEDs were a great upgrade.

I would not say, however, that the LEDs on my car are any _brighter_ 
than  a regular bulb, though each new generation of fixture is brighter 
than the previous, and incorporates a better designed array.
