Ignition switch and a converter for a Corado wheel

When I got the car it had a Carodo steering wheel. I need to change the 
switch and I cannot get the stupid converter off the S wheel shaft. I tried, 
screwdrivers, gear pullers etc. No luck.

Any harm in cutting a slot along the edge to get it off so I can use it 
again?
