Oil pump choices

The parts that originally came on our cars are available in the aftermarket
now. VW didn't make all of their own parts but bought parts from other
companies to complete their motors and sometimes had other companies make
parts to their specs. When you see numbers or symbols ground off of parts,
this is what is usually going on or a dealership is dumping it's old stock.

I would make sure to only deal with German manufacturers whenever possible
and I am able to do that through the wholesaler called WorldPac. I get
parts through them for about 1/4 of the retail price and as time marches on
more "cool" stuff is available through them such as Bilsteins and lighting
and such.

So, I guess my suggestion is to go wherever you can for the best deal but
make sure your getting German and it will probably be an OEM part.
