cross-flow vs g60

You know, I stopped and thought about that when I sent the initial
response, as the number 38 stuck in my head. I convinced my failing
memory that the GX/MZ heads had 38mm intakes, and the HT and RD heads had
40mm intakes.

FWIW the hydro version of the JH/2H uses the same intake valves as HT/RD -
p/n 048 109 601 A.

The TTuning site, as Dan pointed out, also lists the 85+ GTI as having
40mm intake, and the "regular" Golf/Jetta as having 38mm intake.

I'd say if you had 38mm intakes you dind't have an HT/RD head, but a GX/MZ
head. Note that the PF and RV (digifant) motors also use the 40MM
intakes.
