Vibration = tranny?

Ok, well lets try this one out for size.

Drained the tranny fluid and discovered a lil' piece of a clamp sitting on
the drain plug...

now, Iam fairly certain that chunks of metal in tranny = bad things...

Now, could this tie into the vibration I've been suffering?

Lets recap this.

Vibration at speeds from 50-65mph or so. Already have new axles, checked
EVERYTHING else. Thought that Im also wondering about is a belt in a tire,
but I haven't gotten a chance to switch tires, plus if it was a belt
shouldn't it shop up on the balancer?

The vibration is not noticeable (it seems) when accelerating, but cruising
at 50-65 mph (isn't at the same speed 100% of the time, sometimes at 50, but
not at 60, sometimes at 65 but not at 55) it does show up. If I put the car
in neutral the vibration stays but "might" not be as noticeable. But even
with the car in neutral the whatchamacallit shaft in the tranny still
spins..
