Oil pressure probs

Your logic still confuses me... a worn pump means that the clearances have
widened... which means the pump can no longer build the same amount of
forward pressure since oil can bleed back... thinner oil, more bleeding
therefore lower forward pressure. If you use heavier oil and you have low
pressure then you have a more serious problem like oil passages clogged up...

Think of it this way...
Cold motor in the morning equals thick oil... idles at about 4.5Bar.
Warm motor after a run on the freeway equals thinner oil... idles at about
1.5Bar.

Thicker oil to start means higher pressures cold and warm, thinner oil to
start equals lower numbers... I don't run 10w40 in the summer months for
this very reason. Too thin for hot weather and I have the total overkill
oil cooler.

If we were to follow your logic then the pressure would go to like 9Bar
once the motor warms up... not good.

I know this is far from begin scientific, but I know I am right.

Anyone want to share their $0.02 worth of knowledge...
