.org forums instead of mailing list?

IMO forums are better at categorizing topics, but encourage "me
too"-like bullshit posts, and you loose the community feel that the
.org mailing list provides. Personally I never bother to look at the
vortex unless someone on one of the lists that I am on points me to a
topic there. The signal to noise ratio there just plain sucks. The
best example of why a mailing list is better is that no other medium
can facilitate an event such as Cincy. Our closeness and Daun's trust
in us would never happen on a forum.

If you need help setting up a separate account, or using mail rules to
categorize your e-mail or automatically move it into folders, just let
me know.

Not sure how everyone else feels about this, has there ever been any
talk of going over to a forum instead of the mailing list?

I'd much rather see that than getting 100 emails a day in my
inbox......
