So im doing this major overhaul project....

Im the only one (Besides Kevin C.) who's going to Dubwars this year so I
gotta reprezent you foo's. Ive gotten a few more sponsors and therefore I
must make the 84 fast enough to win the road race this year. (Im up
against VR's and Turbo cars, AGAIN!) You know, step it up a notch, or 20.


So my remaining tasks at hand are to swap trannies and 5th gears. (Major
job in itself and im only one guy.) plus swap cams, complete exhaust
(Smogged the 84 last saturday. PITA.) some intake changes and other items
I cant discuss. (Debuts at dubwar.)

So my plan was to run the crashed 82's motor one last time before I tear
it down to the point of "non running ever again" status. I've got the
battery charger on the car and im just waiting for it to charge enough to
lite off. I snagged the exhaust system for the 84's smog test so its open
all the way, not even a manifold. Figured id capture it on tape. 

So, while im waiting, I decide to go ahead and break the axle nuts loose.
I get the driver side off, no problem. Come around to the other side and
start standing on the socket, with my hand on the fender for ballance and
WHAM! Hey, wow, the hood just closed. On, my, that would be my hand,
hidden from sight because the hood just_closed where my hand shouldnt be.
Ok, this is not a problem, doesnt hurt. HEY, WAIT A MINUTE, doesnt hurt?
My gawd, its gonna be bad! So I calmly reach over with my left hand and
using the strength in my tippie toes, manage to get the hood lifted up
enough to get my hand out. This is when it really is going to start
hurting, isnt it. Yep, still waiting.... any second now im gonna be
crying like a baby. I better go get Julie and have her get ready to take
me to the hospital. you know how long it takes women to go anywhere. So I
go prep her for our journey and take some damage control of my own. Hand
works, not broken, still waiting for that massive pain to come along
anytime now. Its well overdue. Julie cant find her shoes and im thinking
I dont need to go to the Dr. Ill just wait til she finds and puts them on
her feet before I tell her were not going. 

So, im still home, some discomfort from it and I have a red mark but
nothing more. Dunno how I managed to get away without any major injuries.
I think its the cars way of saying, "hey, you saved me from the junkyard
10 years ago and I really dont like what your doing to me but considering
the circumstances..... I understand". 

That or maybe I shouldnt do anything this weekend. Well, ill take my
chances. hope she starts for me, one last time.
