Rubber side strips...

What are the pros and cons of removing these?  A friend did it to his and he said it was easy.  Claimed he used a hair dryer to heat them up a bit and they just peeled off.

Pro:  Looks cool.

Con: No more dent blocker from other car doors.

Any other opinions/comments?
