8v exhaust spring clamps

Ok,

I had the wife take her cabby in to get the front end aligned and the
asshat that went to move her car into the bay put the car in 3rd rather then
first and tried to take off. So we all know what happens at that point,
stall screetch, clunk. Only this time there was the clanging of metal at
the end of it as well. Looks like when wonderboy stalled the thing, it
shreaded what was left of the front motor mount and in the process, snapped
one of the spring clamps that hold the downpipe to the manafold. I know I
should get the shop to replace this since they kinda messed it up, but I
want the car to get fixed sometime this year and I want it done right.

So I've sourced 2 spring clamps and the gasket for $26 at a somewhat local
VW shop, but in looking at the bently, being that I don't have the special
wedge tools, what would you exhaust guru's reccomend I used to pop the old
ones off and the new ones on? Going to try and do this friday morning since
the wife doesn't have to be at work till 5pm and this "looks" like about an
hour job. I'm also planning on putting my rocco back together friday so the
faster her car gets repaired, the faster I can get to my mess...er...rocco.

So, any and all input welcome, though I don't do weddings and no I won't put
that there, I don't care how much you want to pay me. Seriously though,
Help!
