Heated (3 wire) O2 sensors are mainly a function of where the sensor
is placed in the exhaust stream, if in the lower cat region then it
gets a heating element, if up in the manifold it gets hot quick and is
usually a single wire.

This is why it usually follows the single for 8v and 3 wire for 16v
model.
