1.8 carb fuel pump

Hey

Thanks for the advice about the battery negative, my starting gremlins have
gone, can anyone tell me a little about the fuel pump or pumps, how many are
there and in the engine bay pump can you strip it down and clean the screen
or is it a replacement job. is there a fuel pump in the tank, if so how do i
get to it?

This is for a 1.8 carb scala
