Mine was silver.......I made it ghetto near the end as a joke.......lol, =
black hood(spray painted it cuz it was rusting), put black vinyl racing =
stripes on the car and silver on the hood (lol, it looked horrible), =
painted my tail linghts silver and only left VW logo's for the light to =
come through (everyone said it looked gay, but I liked it for a while, =
lol).....put big bumpers on it then traded it for my two rocco's, I =
think I did pretty good cuz the golf only cost me $700 when I got =
it.......

Just wanted to say hello to everyone, I'm new to the list........
a bit about myself....
I'm George, 19 years old, and I live in Hamilton Ont. I'm on my =
second VW and my first rocco, It's an 82' 1.7 (no emissions for me =
muahahaha). I got it in sept. My first car was an 86' Golf 8v exhaust =
ran straight to a single deisel muffler (make one of my favorite exhaust =
sounds). My rocco is mostly stock, but I have done little things so far, =
8mm taylor plug wires, 2" custom stainless exhaust. I'm planning on a JH =
transplant in the summer, but it'll be my first time swapping an =
engine....so it'll be interesting to see what happens. I've spent a =
CRAPload of time undoing a lot of butchering this car has suffered =
through. I don't think I'll get into that now, but it deserves a moment =
of silence.................
I also have an 84' 1.8 8v rocco for parts (a deer hit it), and an 84' =
8v GLI (damn van didn't know red meant stop) also for parts.
anyways, I had a few questions
1) I noticed the other day that my car has a 1.6 head....I was told =
that 1.6 and 1.7's use the same head...??? anyone know?
2) i have a tb for it, I'm told it's an audi tb, my copy of etka is vw =
only and I was wondering if anybody could check the part # for me =
B6 120 034 AB 833 I dunno if that's all that's needed, it also had DVG =
and 85B in other spots on it
3) I'm told I'm running lean/too hot in cylinder #1 possibly a dirty =
injector....what are the different ways to clean them? only with =
additives? if so, any recomendations?
Anybody from this list live in the area??
