[help! need glass in new orleans!]

You're right about the shattering. When plexiglass breaks, in my experience it made huge, very sharp daggers. For a car that sees street time, I wouldn't replace anything with plexi except maybe the back side windows. I'd also like to take my sunroof out and seal in a piece of plexi there, but other than that not only is it probably not legal where there are inspections, but definitely not safe for other windows.
