WTB: 16V Fuel Computer (do these go bad?)

Looking for a fuel computer (Lambda computer, KE-Jetronic box, whatever you wanna call it) for an '88 16V.
Not sure if mine is bad, but I've tried many other things to no avail, so it's worth a shot.
Do these go bad often?  If so, what are the symptoms?
