snapped camshaft! and low compression update...

I've heard of the cam snapping thing (a few times now) but whats strange is
that every time I heard of someone doing this it was with a Shrick cam????
Anyone know of any problems with them? Doesn't seem like I've heard any
rumors or anything about bad shricks but now I wonder??
