speaking of FF tranny...

In fifth gear a 4K will give you about 4000 rpm at 70 mph, fifth gear in the
FF about 2800 rpm.  If all  you do is sporting driving than go for the 4K if
you want to go anywhere the FF is nicer. Then you could opt for the cake and
eat it too like I did. I had a 6 speed built by V/L of Oregon final 3.89
first 3.45 second 2.12 third 1.44 fourth 1.13  fifth .91 sixth .071. That
along with a Quaife makes for fun in a 1979 Scirocco with an Audi JN 1800 cc
10 to 1 compression engine. 272 cam and Techtonics dual down pipe with 2 and
1/2 inch exhaust.

you the FF and putting the 4k in though, I sure wouldn't mind! ;) I drive
more around town than anything else, although I do take a some longer trips.
For comparision, what's stock in an '88 16v? Can someone do a compare and
contrast for me? Not that it makes a big difference, just curious.
