16v 2.0l engine, N/A stats?? - now alternator

Sounds right to me. Your battery supplies current to the lamps, but then the
alternator supplies about the same current to the battery.

A clamp-on Ampere meter is the tool to measure how much current flows from
the alternator, or for any other circuit for that mater.

well I think that lowering the Alternator depends on the lights you use,
because if your doing rallye racing and you drop to a 60 amps and use
Eurolight with rallye bulbs in them ya going to be short on power

P=EI, for example I use 2xH3 and 2xH4 and flood drivig lights 2xH3 rallye
bulbs in my eurolight repectively 2x100w, 2x100w/130w , 2x55W

this would be at high beam intensity 200w(h3)+260w(h4)+110w(h3) = 570 watts
of lights, Now I know the alternator produces 13.5~13.9v but the battery
only produces 12V (where I disagree with your logic, because my headlights
are relayed to the battery not the alternator.

560w = 12v*I,  560w/12v =I, I= 47.5 amps drawn from battery on high beams,
and would be on diving (low beams) conditions 2x100 +2x55 = 310w where I =
25.83 Amps.

how much amps is draws from the alternator then ? how do you calculate it ?

=>
=>
=>1HP = 750 Watts
=>P=EI so 750 Watts / 13.8 Volts = 54 Amps
=>My Scirocco draws that (measured) with the headlights on, heater
=>on, stereo
=>on, motor running at 2000.
=>
=>Scirocco draws how much at WOT? 20 amps? (not running big lights
=>and the big
=>stereo of course)
=>
=>So, 20 Amps * 13.8 Volts = 276 Watts, around 300 Watts
=>
=>Make the alternator not 100% efficient, so say, you need an extra 40% for
=>mechanical, and electrical resistance.
=>
=>300 Watts * 1.40 = 420 Watts.
=>
=>Maybee half of one horsepower. Let's be generous, 1 HP saved.
=>
=>Anybody electrical engineer can confirm my thinking?
=>
=>Cheers.

=>guarantee it doesn't take 10 hp, probably not even 5.  I'd guess
=>maximum of
=>3.

Yes, precisely.
