I'd stick with the JH head. What you would gain from the cross flow =
design you would more than loose from the hydraulic lifters. =20

Subject: Forced Induction ?: X-Flow versus JH head

I posted this question on the Vortex FI board and got =
less-than-desirable answers. Maybe you guys can help:

I have a complete JH engine that was rebuilt ~15k miles ago by the PO. =
But it seems apparent to me that a X-flow head would offer a better =
advantage in terms of distance from the heat of the exhaust manifold =
versus the JH head (not to mention supposed closer proximity to any IC =
piping...)

But using a x-flow head in an mk1 scirocco would most likely require =
some reasonably extensive modifications to the intake and throttle =
linkages, right?=20

It's not that I'd be opposed to that or the $$ required if the benefit =
was significant enough, I'm just curious if the bang is worth the buck =
in this case... The goal is:=20

  ~200hp (streetable (@ ~15psi?)), scirocco 16v throttle body, A5KTQ IC, =
and SDS (most likely) EFI

  Thanks in advance, JT
