Did you try jumoing the fuel pump relay at the box?
If it is an 8v it has a CPR (located on the block) and Frequency Valve (located on the backside of the fuel dist, it is the thing that buzzes).
Disconnect the O2 sensor also it should go into limp home mode and drive and see what happens, I have seen O2 sensor that fail and still signal. And if the cat failed and was plugging up there is a real possibility that the O2 sensor is loaded and giving false readings.
If the doesnt do it listen to the frequency vavle and see if it is cycling if not test the leads if there is a pulse the and no sound that maybe bad. Try disconnecting that and drive and see what happens.
Usually if the CPR is bad you have a hell of a starting problem, you would know as it would be tough to start and the idle would suck.

now, and i still havent fully figured out what the
problem is.
things that i have replaced
internal fuel pump
plugs
wires
distributer
cap and rotor
fuel filter
all of the vacuum lines
air filter

reset the timing
gutted all of the borken stuff out of the cat

now the problem that i am having is under load the car
will buck wildly and jerk in all gears, i hooked up an
air/fuel meter to see what the system was doing and
this is what i can see. when the jerking starts and
motor will slam extremely lean and then back to rich
over and over again, so something is telling the fuel
system to turn off and on wildly will a vacuum leak
at the injectors cause this fault? or maybe a bad
injector? i know that the 02 sensor is in good
condition, along with the dpr, both of them were
tested, and i also tested the thermo-time switch. all
sensors tested out in great shape! could the fuel
pump relay be faulty at certain rpm ranges? not sure
on this problem, it is really stumping me at this
point.

could some of the 8v experts help out on this one?
thanks in advance
