I blame Anson! Kinda Long

This is getting crazy.  Now I've moved into the engine compartment.  

Dumb question for anybody.  On '78 is the CIS seperate from the ignition?  From looking at mine it is off of a 83or 84 GTI.  At this point chassis harness and Engine management will be seperated.  But I hooked up the battery this morning and all of the rear lighting works so now I'm working on the front half.  This is getting ugly.

    this is really being used? No radio,heater,speakers, glove box, Interior
    Lighting, etc. You're outta here! Errant vacuum lines? See ya! OOO what's
    that? Rigged ingition switch someone couldn't get to work? Ghandi!

    Did I mention that I had already pulled the Charging system wiring to
    install a GM One wire set up? Fan wiring? Nasty you're gone too! This all
    started at about midnight. I had to force myself to walk away. I am
    hopeless.
