16v swap to early Scirocco

>From my experience, expect a lot of waymores...

Plan on spending way more than you thought.
Expect to have it take way more time than you thought.
And figure on having way more problems than you thought.

I did the 16v suspension and brakes, so I have cried a lot over, under, and
inside the car.

My car still doesn't run, man I've said that a lot before.

I am in a position where cash is not allowed to flow through the car like so
much water (like in the beginning of the project)

When I get the cash, I will buy a part or two. Until then, I just have to
relax.

My project has taken way more time than other listers so, don't let my
ravings bother you, just take my advice and keep some of your sanity...

One day I will drive it and say "Yes, this is what I wanted..."

Subject: 16v swap to early Scirocco

'81 Scirocco. Planning a 2.0l 16v swap with a 9A from a Passat.
Is there a good writeup or web page on what I'll need?
I've got:
9A long block needing rebuild
I don't have:
distributor
valve cover
intake manifold
engine management system.

I've heard that most any Digifant system can work with this; I'd need to add
a fuel rail, injectors, etc.
I have a knock box from an '87 GLI, and matching throttle body.
Is there an issue with the exhaust manifold/downpipe?

Any thoughts appreciated... what's the best way to search the list archives?
