Engine/tranny Question

Welcome, and there are many ways to get to big hp, but in that light car, 
you may find 150, or even 120hp is more than enough. At any rate, you've 
come to the right place to get the answers you seek, mine's a 16V and no 
slouch getting in and out of traffic. It's making well under your numbers. 
As for the fifth gear problem, there are echoes in my ears, and you'll 
likely hear "low gear oil" from numerous directions.
