Running problems w 16v

The car after runninbg for a while just quits running. The tach shows RPM,
no warning lights. Just stops.
Turning the key will start the car but it may run only for a few seconds
than quit. No power to move etc.
I changed the fuel filter just days ago
Any ideas?
