Wanted all Drivers for a Drive to the Blue Ridge Parkway and Back =
on Sunday, April 27th.
Leave: Carolina PLace Mall, Charlotte, NC @ Sams Club Gas pumps @ =
9:00 sharp
Pick up "Drivers" at Exit 49 @ Belk Signal Hill Mall in =
Statesville @ 10:00 sharp, for those coming off I-40 East & West for =
those of you in the East and West
Stop at Exit 93 Dobson, NC @ 10:45 at Shelton Wineries for =
relaxation, Pics, Little Vino, We will pick up any straglers from all =
points East, West, North, & South
Depart the winery @ 12:00 Sharp, go up to exit 100, turn right off =
the exit onto Highway 89 East, go until you see a Subway Sandwhich Shop =
on the right about 5 miles, Will pick up bag lunches if interested to =
eat on the Parkway and wait for straglers.=20
Will Leave Subway @ 1:00 Sharp and get onto Highway 52 North and =
go up to the Parkway up a CURVY ROAD called Fancy Gap and get on the =
Parkway at mile marker 200 and go to Maybry Mill at mile post 175 =
(approximately) and eat lunch, more pics etc. They have a resturant =
there for those who want to wait in line.
There is a nice Winery on the Parkway called Moriestte Winery, if =
there is enough interest about 10 minutes from Mabry Mill a little =
further North.
Leave Mabry Mill or Morisette Winery and head South to Mile Marker =
193 (approx) to head down the mtn. on a curvy road called Orchard Gap =
Road 691 or Wards Gap Road 679, stop at a little store there for pics =
and head down the mountain to Mount Airy,=20
If enough interest we could go by the Mayberry Jail and take some =
pics of the outside of the jail with the Mayberry Sqaud Car.
Then head over to Roses Shopping Center for a little Judging of =
the cars and possibility of some refreshments at A place called Ultimate =
Imports right at the Subway Shop we stopped at earlier.
Then break up and heads to all points East, West, North, South to =
our homes after a great cruise......
