letter: a Scirocco list CALL TO ACTION!!! (So Rantorific)]

Here's a prototype letter, add/delete/etc as you like, once you all get i=
t the
way you like it we can send it. Please clean up my run on
sentences/punctuation/etc, reword it, whatever. I think it could stand mo=
re of
an "edge", it's a bit bland.

The letter entitled "Get it off your Chest" (p22, March 2003 PVW), which=

featured a photo of a very modified black MkII belonging to one of our
members, has been the recent topic of discussion on the Scirocco list, an=
d
rather than flood your mailbox with numerous letters, we thought we'd sen=
d you
a group reply. =

First, we'd love to see more articles on Sciroccos, (or any A1 cars for t=
hat
matter.) Although the letter suggests we should all "buy a real VW", many=
 of
us have numerous VW s, ranging from rare air coolers to A4 platform cars,=
 yet
we still prefer our Roccs to all of them. We love their power, their ligh=
t
weight and superb handling. We enjoy modifying them, working on them
ourselves, and driving them "in a spirited manner". Members of our group =
drive
Sciroccos in nearly every form of racing, and they perform admirably,
outperforming cars half their age, with larger engines and pricetags. If=
 they
aren't flashy, it is by choice, since there is no replacement for that "w=
hat
the hell was that" look as we leave others in our dust. And apparently, y=
es,
it is "1985 all of a sudden", because the enthusiast following hasn't dec=
lined
at all, check www.scirocco.org and you'll see. Those of us who drive the=
se
cars can't all be wrong. And there are a lot of us. =
