Finally: G60 Scirocco makes first autocross

After two years of work, including lots of help from
the Scirocco List, we finally got to dodge some cones
in the Scirocco last weekend.

At the Southeast Division series Event #1 in Laurens,
SC, Project No Cones Racing (that's us!) drove the car
to a very respectable 2nd Place in the Street Modified
class, and took the win in Street Modified Ladies!

The only mechanical problem was blowing off the valve
cover breather during Katie's 2nd run. A course worker
was kind enough to return it to us so we could clamp
it down tighter.

The car ran great. Torque steer is nasty, but power is
fun! We have a LOT of work to do to sort out the
suspension yet, but it did well for a first try. It
rained during all of our runs on Sunday. I'm happy to
say that it will spin those sticky 235/45-13 race
tires all the way through 3rd gear on wet pavement.
I've never had to modulate my right foot before!

Big thanks to Daun for grabbing the car for us way
back when, to Potterman for all his help, and to
everyone else around here for all the support!
