car is missing...

my '88 started missing badly today. was driving fine and all of the sudden 
it just didn't want to go. here's the symptoms, starts and idles fine for 
about 30 secs, then starts missing really bad. the only way to rev the 
engine at all is by going under the hood and opening the throttle to full. 
timing is dead on by the marks, distributer is fine, and fuel pumps are 
operating normally. what's the next most likly problem? could the temp or 
oxy sensors cause these symptoms?
