1.8L JH 8V engine tear down.

At the very least, fix whats obvious and replace the main and rod
bearings and the oil pump. you can do his without pulling the head. 

If you pull the head, you can go a little deeper like honing the
cylinders and/or boring the cylinders and installing a set of new
pistons. depends on how deep you want to get into the motor and your
pockets. 

AS far as the cylinder head goes, unless you plan on doing a few more
heads, just take it to a machine shop for a valve job and pick it up when
its done. They will check it for all than can be wrong with it. cheaper
than buying the tools for one job. Otherwise, you hunker down and buy the
tools.
