burning a lot of gas in my 8v

I've had 2 leaky bosch fuel filters in a row.  This should have been on the
german engineering poll. They leak all over around the battery connections,
and all the way down the fender to the factory ground location.  If those
terminals or grounds were corroded or rusty, they would arc a little bit.
Sparks and fuel... bad combo. Luckily my battery connections were always
clean, so I never had any problems, but I sure did use up a lot of gas until
I figured it out.

  I remember once getting 15mpg in my '84 8v.  I had a fuel leak at the
beginning of the line that goes to the cold start valve, it would leak only
while the engine was running ofcourse-
