winter projects (long)

My project will probably take me all of next year. The first thing I need
to do is put my 11' rotors on the front and the 16V disc setup on the rear.
I also have a passat master cylinder that needs to go on and with that will
go the 16V proportioning valves. The calipers I have are from the yard
(audi 5000 front / 6V rear) and I need to rebuild them. I have o-rings and
boots from NAPA and I need new hardware kits and bleeder screws. I figure I
might as well take them to work and bead blast them then paint them. That's
the easy stuff.

The more challenging plan is to Bolt up a supercharger from a mini cooper
onto the car with an intercooler and a Megasquirt fuel system. I also plan
to replace the exhasut valves on my JH with sodium filled ones. I have a
16V block that I might use instead of the JH because it (I think) has oil
squirters on it. I need to find out if my JH head can bolt on the block
though. I can't decide if I want to put my JH internals into the 16V block
or if I want to order new $$$ rods and pistons. If I keep the JH stuff I'm
going to senf it out and have it cryogenically treated. I would do the
crank, rods and pistons. I'm really tempted to get new rods and pistons to
reduce weight and to get the bigger wristpins from the newer cars. I'm
planning on trying to get at least 15 to 17 lbs of boost out of this thing.

I've been doing research on who has the cheapest prices on g60 pulleys and
such for the drive belt. I need to find out the diameter of the g60 crank
pulley and the number of ribs on the belt (anyone?) to see how it compaires
with the superchargers pulley. I plan to spin the supercharger about 13,000
rpm while my car is turning around 7500 rpm. I also need to figure out how
to remount my MSD wheel as I think my billet pully is not going to work
anymore, not at least without some modification.

As far as mounting the supercharger I think I have that all figured out.
The intercooler I have is from a Dodge Daytona Turbo 2. I had one from a
talon but the intake/exhaust ports were too small. After I get everything
mounted I'm going to take the car to my local tube bender / cage maker and
have him mandrel bend all the pieces I need.

The only thing I don't have figured out is the supercharger bypass valve
(any one have one?) and if I need to put sometype of releif valve on the
plumbing like a turbo. Any advice here would be really welcomed.

I figure that the car is going to be apart for a while and it will probably
take a while to figure out the fuel and ignition maps after it's all
together.

The ignition system I have already has a plug for a MAP sensor and will
retard the ignition timing 1 degree for everly lb of boost it reads. I can
override it somewhat by the curve I program into it. If I can hook up or
make a simple knock system that will send out a 12V signal when it senses
knock I can wire it into the ignition and have it retard the timing by a
preset amount.

I think I've covered almost all of the bases but you never know until you
get into it.

having just put in large orders with potterman and autotech for my winter
mods/plans, was wondering if anyone else had big plans for the winter? i'm
planning on giving stripe the deluxe treatment: 2l conversion, exhaust,
complete suspension reworking, and some smaller interior/exterior mods.
hopefully in spring stripe we re-awaken a totally new beast!
