I don't how "ridiculous" you're talking about, but I'd be willing to bet
going turbo off a JH platform with Digi 1 EMS would be the cheapest "bang
for the buck". It's not uncommon to get ~ 200 hp from a blown JH.

The JH's original 8.5:1 CR is perfect for going forced induction (it would
also lend us Californians some remaining drivability when removing the turbo
for smog exams).

I've been kicking this idea around for a while myself.
