16V problems... Interesting discovery



Some of you may remember my postings about my car frequently visiting "limp-mode", where I have no power.  This is strange, but if I hold the brake and slip the clutch a little while it's in gear (and stopped) so the engine almost stalls, it comes out of limp mode for a little while (2-3 minutes).  Why the heck would it do that?   "You're weird, Scirocco..."
Anyway, a quick question - my alternator bearing is shot, and the alternator makes lots of bad noises.  Does anyone think it could be possible the knock sensor is picking these noises up?  I severly doubt it, but at this point, anything's worth checking.  Thanks again.
