If you are moving to the front range of Colorado and not in the hills, then just get good M&S rated tires and a set of cable chains. I lived in the Denver area for years and I never had a use for studded tires, but had the occasional use of the chains. my .02

I was thinking studs, but only have very limited experience with them. I do remember they were real sketchy on pavement lacking snow and with a cross-country drive followed by regular around town type driving, I wasn't sure if they would be a good idea.
