Well a wheel bearing will moan rather than rattle, and it wouldn't be
associated with engine rpm, so I'd rule that out.

AFA your rattle, clutch in or out?  Engine hot or cold or doesn't
matter?

IIRC, engine rpm associated rattles on decel indicate worn wrist pin
bushings.  But that's mental memory from a long time ago...
