booster swap. questions

The question is.
Can an early (82) rabbit converable german built master clyn go onto
a late model 88 16v Brake booster?

If not thats ok. I just would like to know.

I had planned on eventually swapping the pedal cluster for one that
can handle cruise control. I just dont want to have to do that right now.

My problem is servere brake stick. i push on the brake and it sticks.
unless
I tap it again then in comes back up most of the time.  I have a 88 16v
brake booster.

I was hoping for a direct swap. If that is not possible. I will fetch a
booster
tomorrow out of an early cabby. along w/ the vent windows.
