If you're asking, then no, it won't fit.

Of course, if you cut out the whole bottom, and weld on the top of the A2,
then anything is possible, even a scirocco quattro. (don't tell Josh Able,
he might do it)

FYI, the 016 tranny that's in that car won't bolt up to a 4cyl without an
adapter.

Also, it's longitudinally mounted.

People have in the past cut out the floorpan of the 4kq and welded it under
the Coupe GT body, to get a "cheap" Ur-Quattro. Even this operation is
tricky and labor intensive. Nowadays it's cheaper to just buy an UrQ.

To put the whole thing into an A1 or A2 would be as hard as a twin engine
install.

Somewhat easier would be to use the Haldex based AWD system found on the TT
quattro. Not cheap. Not easy.

For the 4kcsq, buy it, see what the problem is and then either part it or
fix it. You could easily make your money back if the parts are in good
shape. Quattro is fun, especially in snow, dirt, etc. Repairs will make your
VW parts seem dirt cheap.

Good luck
