Cleaning injectors

That's a great tip, Earl!

I just tried that on the injectors on my GTI, the red tube fits snugly
enough, that it seals it so that it all sprays through the injector
nozzle.=20
Note: it seals so well, that you have to be careful when you disconnect
it.

The spray pattern on mine was pretty bad, and the sputtering replicates
how the car runs.

I'm going to swap in the injectors from the '84 Scirocco.

I'm looking for a cheap set of new injectors any suggestions...

The way I cleaned mine in the past was with brake cleaner.  Sounds funny

it worked great.  If you spray the cleaner through the injector with the

"red straw" the cleaner comes with you'll see the difference.  After a

seconds of spraying you'll see a nice atomized even spray pattern come
from=20
the injector.  I used brake cleaner because it dries fast and won't harm
the=20
injector.  Just my personal experience.
