Poor-Barely running scirocco

Folks,
Just wanted to let you know what I've found so far. I haven't had much time to mess with it, but I did get a chance to borrow and use a friends fuel pressure guages. The fuel pump is putting out 73psi and the control pressure is 22.5psi cold and 46psi hot which is what this "richened" pressure regulator is supposed to do. However, the hot wire to the control regulator that powers the heat strip on the back had no current going to it. I had to hot wire it to get the heat strip to warm up. That is part of my problem, but even after doing that, the car would start up then I could watch the EGT drop from the initial 1100 degrees down to 475 degress, then die. So, something else is happening to. I let the buddy with the gauges borrow the fuel pressure control regulator to use on his race car for this weekends MARRS-SARRC races at VIR since his control regulator bought the farm at the last race and he is still waiting for a replacement... So, next time I get a chance to
work on the car, I'll test the coil and see what it's doing. What else should I be looking at? Any tips greatly appreciated!!!!
			Thanks a ton,
