It's low, it's low, it's low low-low low low...

Josh needs some help with his new suspension (offset Qs), but he ran into a
snag with his email at work. I'm posting this for him. Please read the
note below and respond directly to him at

>So I spent a nice hour and a half last night installing my H&R coilovers. I
>must say, it was really easy being that the spring/shock combo was already
>put together. I installed the setup with the settings they had straight out
>of the box, which dropped the car about 1.5 -2 inches. Looked very nice, but
>it was not meant to be.

>My front wheels (16x7 ET40) have too much offset and the tires rub the
>coilover. I had to raise the front about 1/2 just so the tire wouldn't rub
>the adjusting nuts and springs. So, I'm going to order new wheels.
>
>Could you post something to the list for me? I can't sign back on right now
>because I got in trouble for getting too much email at work (darn, scirocco
>enthusiasts are chatty :P ). Please tell everyone to reply to my email
>directly ( Josh.Hignight@phoenix.edu)

>The question is this. If I'm ordering 16x7.5 " wheels, what offset do I need
>to run in order to keep them form rubbing the coilover in the front, as well
>as rubbing the fender lip? So far, with the rim I want, the only offsets
>available are ET25 and ET35. Can I run an ET35 and a 5mm or so spacer and be
>okay? Or will the ET25's be okay? I'm not worried about the rear, being that
>there's MORE room available now than there was before.
>
>Also, what would the right offset for any 7.5" or even 8" wide wheel be in
>order to clear the coilovers?
>
>Oh and I wanted to say Potterman is the illest! The car rides smoother than
>it did before, and those H&R's make the car stick like stink!

Thanks, people!!
