Idle surging up and down

but they have the switch on the throttle body (8v full throttle switch) and
that causes the idle on th 8v (dunno how it works on the 16v yet) to run
1000-3K up and down yes.

=>Dan the 8v don't have the idle switch that is 16v specific,
=>everything else
=>is sound though. Also disconnect the O2 sensor and see if the
=>vehicle goes
=>into limp home mode (IDLE SMOOTH OUT AND SMELL RICH).
